Abstract
The life of the outstanding Azerbaijani romantic poet Muhammad Hadi (1879-1920) was typical for a talented, free-thinking person in that time. M. Hadi's ideas of progress, of development of the publishing trade and industry, about problem of women emancipation sound throughout all his creative work. In his rich artistic creativity, in literary and critical works, Muhammad Hadi substantiated the ideological and aesthetic principles of national romanticism. Muhammad Hadi knew deeply Turkish, Oriental, and European literature and philosophy, and it was brightly reflected in his creative work. Unfortunately, like some other Azerbaijani and Turkish poets of that time, the complex expressions and Arabic-Persian poetic constructions in Muhammad Hadi's language create certain difficulties for the reader in correct perception and understanding this unique artist of words. A talented poet and contributor of the magazine "Fuyuzat" published by Ali bey Huseynzade lived a stormy and tragic life. The light, emanating from his romantic nature, his verses, which are valuable samples of art, as well as his quotations and translations, evoke powerful human emotions and resonate with his creative ideals.
